2024 Hurricane Creek Recreation Area Rules, Regulations, and Policies

HURRICANE CREEK CLUB RULES REGARDING THE USE OF THE SWIMMING POOL, TENNIS COURTS AND OTHER FACILITIES


The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members and guests. They are to ensure the safe and sanitary operation of the Pool, Tennis Courts, Clubhouse and other improvements of the club property.


A. HOURS OF OPERATION DURING THE SWIMMING SEASON **

MONDAY THRU SATURDAY: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM (See Club Calendars for Late Night Swims)
SUNDAY: 12:00 Noon to 7:00 PM ** We will close the pool at 7pm Sunday through Thursday when the Hamilton County schools open in the Fall.


B. POOL USE


ALL MEMBERS AND GUESTS USE THE POOL AT THEIR OWN RISK. NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY.

  1. The use of the pool is limited to club members in good standing and their guests.
  2. The baby pool and baby playground are designated for children less than 4 years of age.
  3. The pool will be closed during inclement weather (thunder/lightning/heavy rain) and when necessary for maintenance operations at the discretion of the Pool Attendant or manager in charge.
  4. Adults have priority for the use of the pool lounge chairs. Do not use lounge chairs simply as tables.
  5. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult guardian. See management for case-by-case exceptions involving siblings caring for each other.
  6. Swimming proficiency tests may be required.
  7. A 10-minute “adult swim” may be called at 10 minutes before each hour at the discretion of the pool attendant. Adults should convey their needs to the pool attendant or management. During “adult swim” all persons 17 and under must exit the water.


C. HEALTH AND SAFETY

  1. The Health Department requires that any child, who is not yet potty trained, must wear leak-proof diapers.
  2. Running, wrestling or any type of “rough housing” is not permitted anywhere on the club grounds.
  3. Pool games are to be those approved by the Pool Attendant, Management or Lifeguard on duty.
  4. Admission to the pool may be denied to persons with skin abrasions, infections, colds, coughs, inflamed eyes or wearing bandages.
  5. Makeshift bathing suits such as “cutoffs” are not allowed in the pool. Proper swimming attire is a must.
  6. The deep diving well area of the pool is reserved for diving only.
  7. Subject to the discretion of pool attendants and pool management, a swimming competency test is required of all persons entering the deep area of the pool.
  8. Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time. Multiple bouncing on the diving board is prohibited.
  9. No diving or jumping off the side of the board. No hanging off the board. Posted rules apply.
  10. No child may use the diving board unless he/she has passed the swimming competency test.
  11. Non-swimmers are prohibited from using the diving board at any time, even in the presence of adults.
  12. Children unable to swim are not allowed in the deep end (i.e beyond the rope / deeper than 3ft.) without a teen or adult guardian in the water and nearby.
  13. ABSOLUTELY NO GLASS CONTAINERS ALLOWED ON THE CLUB GROUNDS.
  14. Talking too loudly or loitering near the Lifeguard or Pool Attendant diverts their attention and is forbidden.
  15. Members are asked to please help keep the area clean.
  16. Smoking, eating or drinking in the pool is not permitted at any time per Tennessee state health code.
  17. HCRA is a no-smoking facility. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the club’s property.

  18. Animals or pets are not allowed on Club Property, per county and state swimming pool health codes.
  19. Alcoholic beverages will not be allowed unless authorized by the Management.
  20. One chair or lounge permitted per person.
  21. Lounge chairs may not be used as tables for personal items.
  22. Food consumption inside the pool’s fenced area is allowed on the wooden deck only.


D. GUEST POLICY AND GUEST FEES

  1. ALL GUESTS MUST CHECK IN at the concession stand UPON ARRIVAL.
  2. The 2024 guest fee is $10.00 per person per day and grants full access to the pool and tennis courts.
  3. Each member family is allowed a maximum of four (4) paid guests per month. This number may be increased at the pool manager’s discretion.
  4. Guests must be accompanied by a registered Club member at all times.
  5. Non-swimming guests in street clothes must remain outside the pool fenced area. Otherwise a guest fee applies.
  6. Former members who have allowed their HCRA membership to lapse as of May 20, 2024 are allowed no more than two (2) club visits as guests over the course of the 2024 pool season unless approved in advance by the Management. This restriction is intended to discourage membership sharing, which is prohibited.


E. POOL ATTENDANTS AND LIFEGUARDS

  1. Pool Attendants and Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing the pool rules and are authorized to ask members and guests to leave the premises and/or to suspend them for any infraction of the rules or any action that endangers the health or safety of another person.
  2. Pool Attendants and Lifeguards should not be considered a substitute for attentive parenting. For the safety of everyone, please watch your children carefully and report any unsafe situation to the Pool Attendant or manager.


F. POOL PARTIES

  1. Pool parties must be booked in advance with Club management. Dates are subject to availability and not guaranteed until confirmed in writing by the management.
  2. Management reserves the right to limit party size, length of time, and party activities.
  3. All pool parties must be supervised by one or more certified lifeguards.


G. TENNIS COURTS

  1. Regulation tennis shoes must be worn on the Tennis Courts at all times.
  2. No bare feet, flip flops or street shoes allowed on the courts.
  3. Dark-soled shoes that leave marks on the court are not allowed.
  4. Only those engaged in playing tennis are allowed on the courts.
  5. Only tennis equipment may be brought onto the courts. (No chairs, bicycles, skateboards, etc.)
  6. Members 16 years of age or older will have priority rights over younger children on the courts after 5:30 PM weekdays and any time on weekends and holidays, unless a vacant court exists with no waiting lists.
  7. Singles are limited to 90 minutes and doubles to two hours if others are waiting.
  8. Tournaments, league play and other special events approved in advance by the Management supersede priorities and time limits.
  9. Proper tennis etiquette should be followed at all times.


H. GENERAL RULES APPLYING TO THE RECREATION AREA AS A WHOLE

  • LIABILITY: All members and their guests using the Recreation Area facilities and surrounding grounds do so at their own risk and release the Owner, Operators, Pool Attendants and Lifeguards from any and all liabilities for personal injuries or loss or damage to personal property occasioned by the use of said facilities.
  • Cost of damage to Club property will be charged to the responsible member or guest.
  • Skates, skateboards, and roller blades are not allowed on the Club property.
  • Picnic tables and benches are not to be used for sunbathing.
  • Glass containers are not allowed on the Club property.
  • Chewing gum is prohibited on any part of the premises.
  • Use of chewing tobacco or snuff of any type is prohibited on any part of the premises.
  • The enforcement of HCRA club rules is delegated to the Pool Attendant, Lifeguard, Gatekeeper and Management.
  • Any infraction may result in suspension of all privileges and membership, without refund.
  • Memberships are not transferable.
  • Each membership is limited to residents of a single household. Membership sharing is explicitly prohibited. Proof of residency may be requested by HCRA staff. Failure to comply with residency verification or violation of the membership sharing policy may result in immediate termination of membership, without refund.
  • Being a small family-owned business, in the event of facility failure, medical emergency, natural disaster, or “acts of God,” HCRA cannot guarantee refund of memberships. However, we will make every effort to act in good faith, ensuring our facilities are maintained and accessible for your enjoyment.
  • Additional rules and regulations may be adopted or these rules amended and such additional rules or amendments will become effective when posted at the Club.
